Despite that Bea expressed gratitude to her former home network, there are still those who perceived that her decision to be a Kapuso was due to monetary reasons. Based on the article in Bandera, GMA-7 offered her a contract that is worth P200 million. This amount is the alleged real reason why she accepted this offer from the Kapuso network.

E, kung ako rin naman ang offeran ng P200 million, e, magpapaalam na talaga ako.  Sa panahon ng pandemic lahat tayo nangangailangan at minsan lang dumating ang ganitong pagkakataon, bakit hindi natin i-grab? “ an actress who is Bea’s contemporary reacted.

Then, an actor who worked with the new Kapuso star had this comment regarding the P200 million contract that will last for two years: “Mag-iinarte pa ba ako?  Nandito tayo sa showbiz para mag work at mabuhay, e, kung wala namang offer at kung meron man hindi ganu’n kalaki, e, siguro uunahin ko na ang P200M.”

When asked about loyalty, the actor who was a former co-star of Bea Alonzo said that “utang na loob” will always be there but when it comes to the financial aspect, the decision of the A-list actress is understandable. “E, sana pinapirma nila ng kontrata or ni-renew kahit na pandemic para may habol sila,” the actor added.
