Phivolcs Says Taal Volcano Still At Alert Level 3
TAAL STILL AT ALERT LEVEL 3 – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) says that Taal Volcano maintained its Alert Level 3 status.
According to PHIVOLCS latest bulletin, Taal produced 48 volcanic tremors since 5:00 a.m. yesterday. Furthermore, it said that high-level activity in the volcano was also monitored.
Additionally, there were three phreatomagmatic eruptions recorded since Friday morning. Along with this, on July 2, Taal spewed an average of 10,254 tons of sulfur dioxide emission.
As such, PHIVOLCS emphasized that the public should be kept off limits near Taal Volcano Island. Moreover, entry to high-risk barangays, particularly, Agoncillo and Laurel.
Likewise, all fishing activities in Taal lake are strictly prohibited. Meanwhile, Pilots were also advised to avoid flying near the Taal Volcano as a sudden eruption could still be possible.
PHIVOLCS also warned the public of the following possibilities:
- pyroclastic density currents or base surge
- volcanic tsunami
- ashfall
- emission of poisonous gas.
Also, Paolo Reniva, resident volcanologist at the Taal Volcano Observatory said the alert level may be raised to Level 4 if high-intensity eruption and swelling is observed in the main crater.

Bilang precaution at preemptive measure nirerekomenda na huwag muna po pumunta sa volcano island. Pero kung may waiver naman po responsibilidad at depende na po ‘yun sa aksyon ng mga LGUs kasi may mga aquaculture nga po rito so iniisip rin po nila yon
