Disappointed Customer Lost P77k After Falling Into Scheme of Scammer Who Pretended as Store Employee
A disappointed customer identified as Ruel Magura lost P77, 000 to a guy who pretended as a store employee in Quezon City.
Ruel Magura went to a store to purchase materials and handed the money to a man who pretended to be one of the store employees. Ruel initially thought that the suspect is one of the staff.
Magura realized that the guy is a scammer after trying to pick up the materials. The store owner told the customer to pay the materials for release without knowing that the victim handed the money to the scammer.
The store owner though that the customer and the culprit were friends. The authorities are currently conducting a manhunt operation to arrest the suspect.
“Nagpapaalala rin ako sa mga kasamahan natin na basta-basta makipag usap, kung kinakailangan yung mismong may-ari or yung andun talaga sa loob yung kausapin,” Magura said.
QCPD station 9 commander P/Lt. Col. Imelda Reyes advised the public to be more aware and vigilant of their surroundings especially when huge amount of cash is involved to avoid falling into the schemes of scammers.
