Sinovac Scrutinized By Medical Experts As Vaccinated Frontliners Succumb To Virus In Indonesia

SINOVAC SCRUTINIZED – China’s Sinovac vaccine is among the most prevalent in terms of quantity. But, despite this, countries such as Indonesia still have high infection rates amongst frontlines despite being fully vaccinated.

According to an article from Forbes, over 350 doctors and medical workers got COVID-19 despite the majority of health workers in Indonesia had been fully immunized with Sinovac. Ironically, this came a few months after officials praised Sinovac for “wiping out” the virus.

Furthermore, dozens of health workers are now in critical condition even with full vaccinations. As such, experts are now questioning yet again the effectivity of the vaccine, particularly against new variants.

Meanwhile, countries such as Costa Rica rejected a delivery of Sinovac after its health officials decided that it wasn’t effective enough against the virus. This attributed to the growing concerns for the vaccine surrounding its efficacy.

However, many countries rely heavily on China’s vaccine for its inoculation campaigns. Among these countries is the Philippines who has a surplus of Sinovac vaccines. Due to this, health experts are finding ways to mix Sinovac with other vaccine brands.

As per the article, Uruguay, among the first countries to reveal data on Sinovac efficacy announced that they had inoculated 60% of its population with at least one dose. Still, they remain one of the countries with the highest COVID-19 deaths worldwide.
