Maris Racal has this statement about her ex-boyfriend
Kapamilya actress Maris Racal reacted to the first acting award of her ex-boyfriend, singer-turned-actor Rico Blanco.
Maris and Rico were both present at the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors’ (SPEEd) 9th EDDYS awards night, held at the Ceremonial Hall of the Marriott Grand Ballroom at Newport World Resorts in Pasay City last Sunday.
Both of them received awards. Maris was named as the Best Actress for her role in the movie Sunshine, directed by Antoinnette Jadaone.
Rico was hailed as the Best Supporting Actor and it was because of his role in the movie Manila’s Finest. He tied with Will Ashley for the movie Bar Boys: After School.
Rico Blanco was emotional during his acceptance speech, based on the article The Philippine Star. This is his first acting recognition. He has been well-known in the music industry for many years already and has received recognition in the past as a singer-songwriter.
Rico was so expressive in thanking everyone in the production team, and his co-stars Piolo Pascual and Enrique Gil. “It’s my first time to be nominated in the film industry. So this means a lot to me. Bago lang po ako dito and yet…na-nominate pa lang masaya na ako tapos nanalo pa po. Maraming salamat po!” the singer-songwriter said.
Maris Racal was also elated about this new milestone in Rico Blanco’s actng career. In the past, Rico has already some acting stints, and Maris said that her ex-boyfriend wanted to pursue his career in acting.
“I’m very happy for him. Nakakatuwa dahil matagal niyang na gusto umarte. And now he has an award for it. I am genuinely happy for him,” the Kapamilya actress said.
Meanwhile, Maris Racal shared an important realization in life during her acceptance speech. She stressed the importance of rising up again after falling. To recall, the actress went through a big controversy with actor Anthony Jennings.
