DAVID ARCHULETA – “American Idol” Season 7 finalist David Archuleta penned a heartfelt post revealing he is part of the LGBTQ+ community.

American singer-songwriter and actor David Archuleta burst into public consciousness at the age of 16. He participated in ‘American Idol’ season 7 and became the 2nd runner-up in 2008.

In the same year, he released his first single ‘Crush’ from his self-titled debut album. The song climbed at #2 on the ‘Billboard Hot 100’ chart.

David Archuleta is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 2012, the singer took a break from his music career to serve a 2-year mission in Chile.

The 30-year-old celebrity made headlines after he revealed that he is part of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) community on social media. His name topped the worldwide trends on Twitter on Sunday, June 13.

In a post on her Instagram account last June 12, David Archuleta shared that he came out as gay to this family in 2014 but he added that he had similar feelings for both genders.

David also disclosed that he’s asexual – a lack of se*ual attraction. He said it “works” because of his religious commitment not to have intercourse before marriage.

David Archuleta also revealed the reason why he finally decided to share his story to the public. He said he knows so many people like him who feel the same way. He asked all the people to be more compassionate to those who are part of the community.

“If other people choose to live differently than what you’ve been raised to believe is right, please have compassion because it’s most likely been an exhausting journey for them to be ok with the feelings they have and never have been able to change,” he wrote.
