Fil-Am Singer Francisco Martin in American Idol Season 18
The 18-year-old Fil-Am singer Francisco Martin amazed the netizen for his wonderful performance in American Idol Season 18.
Recently, Pinoy singer Marcelito Pomoy showcase his talent into the international stage America’s Got Talent: The Champions’making his fellowmen proud. Marcelito finished as the 3rd runner-up of the prestigious talent competition.
Meanwhile, another Filipino is likely to raise the flag of Filipinos in the field of singing. Filipino-American Francisco Martin auditioned for the 18th season of American Idol.
The 18-year-old Pre-Law student Francisco sang the acoustic version of Alaska by Maggie Rogers. Francisco was thrilled to enter the audition room and face Idol judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan.
In the video, the judges first calmed him down before finally singing his piece, which surprised them greatly. Katy said that with Francisco’s performance, he was one of the top 10 of the singing reality show but Luke and Lionel objected to this and said Francisco was in the top 5.
They also let Francisco, now based in San Francisco, California, sang his original song but couldn’t finish it since Katy started teasing her about the reason he wrote the song.
Luke added that Francsico had high hopes of becoming the next superstar because of his talent for singing and instrumentation. Three judges did not even have to vote and Francsico was automatically given a golden ticket for the Hollywood round of American Idol.
Francisco Martin is a confirmed Filipino as his videos of showcasing his singing talent become viral on social media.
