BTS Hits No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 W/ New Single “Dynamite”
BTS – On Monday, South Korean boy band BTS achieved its first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The Bangtan Boys also known as the BTS is a 7-member South Korean boy band that was formed in 2010. The group consists of vocalists Jin, V, Jimin, and Jungkook and rappers RM, Suga, and J-Hope.
They have performed on several world tours and released several albums. Their Youtube videos reach millions of views in a matter of hours.
BTS dropped the official music video of their new sing ‘Dynamite’ on Youtube on August 21. Liza uploaded a vlog reaction to the band’s first fully English-language single.
The K-pop group won big at the recently concluded MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs). They took home best choreography, best pop, best K-pop awards and best group. They performed “Dynamite” live for the first time at the ceremony.
Aside from their massive feat on VMAs, BTS’ latest hit Dynamite debuted in the number 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100. They became the first all-South Korean musicians to top the chart.
Based on Nielsen Music/MRC Data BTS’ song gained 33.9 million streams in the United States and 300,000 sales in its first week. ‘Dynamite’ also gathered 11.6 million radio airplay audience impressions. It’s the 4th song of the group that entered the top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100.
Jimin took to Twitter to thank their fans for the support. He said, “You guys made this happen and this is something that you all need to be congratulated for and I truly hope that you are all feeling the amount of happiness equal to this big achievement. Thank you.”
