JOHN ARCILLA – Veteran actor John Arcilla admits receiving threats from fans of “Ang Probinsyano” and this is what he feels about it.
Previously, actor Michael De Mesa portraying the character of “Manager” in Ang Probinsyano, top-billed by Kapamilya actor Coco Martin, received death threats after some obsessive fans got carried away with their hate for his character. The veteran actor coolly reacted to the threats as he must be that effective that some were greatly affected by it.
And he’s not just alone because John Arcilla also went through in similar situation as he portrays the most-hated villain character of Renato Hipolito. Chasing Cardo Dalisay and the Task Force Agila relentlessly, many people are annoyed of his role and he definitely delivered as so well just like De Mesa with his role. Some people personally message him about it.
In ABS-CBN, Arcilla admitted that the first time he received threats because of his portrayal has got him anxiety. However, he knows better now on how to handle these threats only that he laments as to how some people could not determine the reel from real.
“Iyon din siguro ‘yung naging dahilan kung bakit nakipagbiruan ako sa [followers] lately, para ipakita sa kanila na, ‘Come on, don’t take it seriously! This is just a teleserye, we’re just giving you some fun.’ At the same time, we’re also trying to give some relevance,” he said.
