CLAUDINE BARRETTO – Here’s what Optimum Star Claudine Barretto said about the alleged sinking of Julia Barretto’s career.
One of the highly-regarded “queens” in terms of drama acting is Claudine Barretto who is dubbed as the country’s “Optimum Star” and she surely wouldn’t be called by this name for nothing. She’s iconic for the roles she played in drama series such as Mula sa Puso (1997–1999), Saan Ka Man Naroroon (1999–2001), Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan (2001–2003), Marina (2004), and Iisa Pa Lamang (2006) and box-office films like Dahil Mahal na Mahal Kita (1998), Anak (2000), Got 2 Believe (2002), Kailangan Kita (2002), Milan (2004), Nasaan Ka Man (2005), Sukob (2006), Etiquette for Mistresses (2015).
Marjorie Barretto is her sister and the mother of Julia Barretto who is currently among the most controversial personalities of today. The young actress is currently and constantly hounded by negative issues because of her personal life, most specifically her love life and her relationship with her biological father Dennis Padilla.
With all these negative issues against the actress lingering online, many people were already speculating that she’s slowly losing her spark as a star and her career sinking down the drain. And Claudine has made some comments regarding the career of her niece. During the virtual launch of her comeback movie “Deception”, she started her narrative by admitting that she has “sama ng loob” to her niece but it does not entirely mean that she hates her.
She actually defended the actress and expressed that she doesn’t believe Julia’s career is sinking down or “pabagsak na”. To her own perspective, her niece has not just received yet the right project for her. She added, “Even if wala pang tsismis kay Julia nun …we were all just waiting for the good project to come to her. Kasi ang problema ang dami nila, may Jadine, Kathniel, Lizquen, Joshua, ngayon Jurald… I’m just waiting.”
And despite the “nega image” of Julia, she still thinks of her as her niece after all. With conviction, the Optimum Star said that it’s not going to happen to her. She also found it similar to her back when she was her age. She was also rebellious but when the right project came to her, it went on continuously.
“Si Julia hindi bumagsak, naging nega lang siya. We just need a good project for her because dugong Barretto ‘yan, magaling at may dugo din ni Dennis Padilla yan, magaling din!” she said as per ABS-CBN.
