DOLE Says Work-from-Home Employees Should be Included on A4 Category for COVID-19 Vaccination Priority List
Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said that the work-from-home employees should be included on A4 category priority list.
The Department of Labor and Employment Secretary Silvestre Bello III said that he wanted to place work-from-home workers under A4 category for the COVID-19 vaccination priority list. He want workers to be included on A4 category.
Bello said that not all employees who have been assigned on work-from-home arrangement stay on their home at all times. He also urged the public to liberalize their interpretation.
“Hindi ibig sabihin na work-from-home ka all the time nasa bahay ka na. You have to liberalize the interpretation. Basta importante ‘pag worker ka kasama ka sa A4,” Bello said.
The Philippine government has issued the latest revision of the priority groups and order of individuals enlisted for COVID-19 vaccination. The A4 priority group includes all workers who need to get out of their home on daily basis.
The DOLE secretary made his statement understanding the situation of home-based workers who need to submit reports to office, get their salary, receiving new instructions from their employers and other circumstances.

“Hindi naman kailangang ispecify mo na you have to be at work all the time kasi when you’re working at home, ‘yung work-from-home arrangement, it does not mean naman na hindi ka na nagre-report. You have to submit your written report. You have to go there and get your salary. Kung may mga instruction employer mo you come to the office for further instruction,” Bello added.
