Here’s the reaction of the mother of Rabiya Mateo after failing to snatch the fifth crown for the Philippines.
RABIYA MATEO – Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo’s mother speaks about her loss in the Miss Universe international pageant.
Although Rabiya Mateo failed to bring home the 5th Miss Universe crown to the country, she never failed to make his countrymen proud of her for her sacrifices and hard work during the pageant. She brought with her the whole Philippines by incorporating patriotic symbols in her outfits.

In a previous article, she opened up about her feelings after losing. Although it was heartbreaking for her not to bring back the crown, she’s now fine and accepted everything because each of them who joined the pageant was destined to be where they are now. She’s still in the USA and enjoying her brief vacation there. In a few days, she will accordingly be back to working once again.
And after her stint in the international pageantry, her mother Christine Mateo remained the proudest for her despite her loss. She is proud of her daughter for her sacrifices, perseverance, and endurance to represent the country. She shared what her daughter told her after finishing her journey in Top 21: ‘Ma, hanggang dun lang narating ko.’
“Sabi ko sa kanya, ‘I love you, anak. Since tapos na ang event, set aside mo na ang isip mo. Magpahinga ka muna. Take your time. Galing ka sa pageant and napakahirap ng naranasan mo. Magpahinga ka muna for a while, and I’m looking forward for you to come back home,'” Rabiya’s mother added.
She told Rabiya to enjoy her stay in United States and rest as much as she can. Although they felt sad about the results, she added that they can’t do anything about it. She naturally wished something more and better for her daughter to happen it all ended there and she have accepted it already.
