Julia Barretto Asks Dad Dennis Padilla on Separation with Marjorie Barretto
DENNIS PADILLA – The actor-comedian made revelations about his separation with former actress Marjorie Barretto in a conversation with their daughter, Julia Barretto.
Among the ex-couples in the Philippine showbiz industry are Marjorie Barretto and Dennis Padilla. It was in 1997 when the then-couple officially tied the knot.
Marjorie already had a child then, Dani, from her previous relationship while Dennis has been married before it but it was unofficial. The two (2) celebrities met, fell in love, and built a family together.
The marriage of Dennis Padilla and Marjorie Barretto was blessed with three (3) children – Julia Barretto, Claudia Barretto, and Leon Barretto. Their youngest is the only son among the five children of the actress. She has a daughter after Leon named Erich.
After the separation in 2007, the three (3) children of Marjorie and Dennis remained with the actress-politician. There were issues surrounding their separation including the alleged third party on the side of the actress.
Marjorie Barretto denied the allegations. In an interview in The Buzz a year after their separation, she cited that Dennis has done something that cannot be changed. She also apologized to her ex-husband that their marriage led to separation and he had to go through things alone.
The children of Marjorie and Dennis are all grown up now. Visibly, they have a wonderful relationship with their father who just survived COVID-19. He went critical due to the disease.
Dennis now has another family. He has two (2) children named Gavin and Maddie with his current non-showbiz partner, Linda Gorton. His partner also has a daughter from her previous relationship.
Recently, Dennis Padilla appeared as a guest in a vlog interview with Julia Barretto. The actor’s daughter asked him about his separation with Marjorie Barretto.
According to Dennis, his separation with Marjorie became rocky because of his attitude and his temper. He admitted it and cited that he also went through a lot why he became that way.
“Ang mommy mo marami ring dinaanang pagsubok dahil sa naging ugali ko pero alam mo, as the years goes by specially when I was about to die (COVID-19 fight)… nag flashback sa akin lahat ng buhay ko,” the comedian said.
During the vlog interview, Dennis Padilla stressed that his separation with Marjorie Barretto was his fault. He expressed that his ex-wife had no mistake and he’s the one to be blamed over what happened to their relationship. Julia Barretto was 10 years old then when his parents separated.
