Heart Evangelista auditioned for ‘Crazy Rich Asians’
Kapuso actress/style icon Heart Evangelista finally revealed that she auditioned for a role in the movie Crazy Rich Asians but it was not a success.
To recall, Kris Aquino was given a chance to be part of the movie series based on Kevin Kwan’s best-selling novel. She played the role of Princess Intan.
Another name of Filipino artists that surfaced in connection with the movie series was Heart. Speculations in the past surfaced that she will be part of CRA movie. The time when she flew to China hyped up the rumors.
It was also rumored that she will be given one of the lead roles in the said film. However, the wife of Chiz Escudero denied that her China trip was for the movie.
Based on the article in Pang-Masa, in the recent vlog of dermatologist Aivee Teo, Heart Evangelista revealed that she indeed auditioned for the Crazy Rich Asians movie.
She shared that she auditioned in the Philippines and got herself a crew for this. Then, she received a call from Los Angeles.
“I remember waking up to 10 missed calls from an agent in L.A. and then sabi niya, ‘How come you’re not answering your phone? Your presentation paused in the middle of the showing.’ But they’re so like parang ano raw, parang ‘who’s this girlcurious. Parang they were saying daw, ‘who’s that girl?’” the Kapuso star shared.
She was asked to send again the file of her audition and so she did. “And then, they asked if I was available to shoot so siyempre of course. And then they never came back,” Heart said.
Although she did not become a part of the cast, she is thankful that her audition was a way that she and Kevin Kwan became close. She is also thankful that she was considered which for her is a consolation for all her hard work in showbiz.
Heart Evangelista also said that she never mentioned about this in the past because it is “masakit” for her.
