Kris Aquino mentioned ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ sequel in an interview
Queen of all Media Kris Aquino revealed something about the sequel of Crazy Rich Asians titled China Rich Girlfriend.
The said movie, based on the best-selling novel of Kevin Kwan, was released in 2018. Fortunately, Kris, although it was just a cameo role, has become part of the movie as Princess Intan, a Malay royalty.
The character of Kris interacted with the female lead Rachel Chu portrayed by Constance Wu. That opportunity for the Pinay actress-host to be part of a Hollywood movie created a loud buzz in the Philippines.
During a recent virtual press conference for her new endorsement, Kris Aquino shared an update on the sequel of the hit movie. She said that Kevin Kwan said that there is a possibility that she will be part of the sequel.
It is because her character was the one who empowered the character of the female lead. Since the China Rich Girlfriend will probably take the wedding scenario of Rachel Chu and Nick Young, Princess Intan might get invited.
“He’s been one of my really consistent WhatsApp friends, and I asked him because the opening of ‘China Rich Girlfriend’ is the wedding. So I asked him, ‘Am I going to be in the wedding? Is Princess Intan invited in the wedding?’ And he said, ‘Of course! Because you’re the one who gave her her validation in ‘Crazy Rich Asians.’ I said, ‘Oh my Gosh, hope it happens!'” the Queen of all Media revealed.
Kris Aquino also shared that Kevin Kwan has been asking her for references for his new book. The Pinay actress-host is proud that the international writer is showing interest in the Filipino culture.
