Why Kevin Kwan chose Heart Evangelista for this fashion project?
Best-selling author Kevin Kwan revealed the reason why he chose Heart Evangelista to be the Filipino who was included in the Harper’s Bazaar feature in 2018.
The feature talked about the fashion icons in Asia and in the Philippines Heart was chosen. Crazy Rich Asians author spearheaded the said project. The wife of Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero is very much thankful for that opportunity that was given to her two years ago.
During the Facebook Live video which was streamed on Tatler Philippines, the Kapuso actress expressed her gratitude again, based on the article from PUSH.
“Usually when I attend fashion shows or they give me clothes to wear, I get like the leftovers… I mean, I’m very grateful just for them to invite me and send me clothes. But then after the Harper’s Bazaar [feature] there’s a complete change,” Heart said.

After that feature, Pinay style icon has to get to choose what she will wear and she is not just receiving the leftovers. “I feel that the stage can still be shared more with the Filipinos, and you did that for us. So thank you,” she said to the author.
Kevin answered that Heart is more than welcome because it has been his goal to showcase “Asia in all its full diversity.” The Harper’s Bazaar feature is perfect enough for him to fulfill his goal.
When asked why he chose Heart Evangelista, Kevin Kwan said, “Heart has this timeless and classic beauty and she has elegance and style that demands to be showcased. It was an easy choice to make.”
The author added that he would love to feature the Kapuso actress in his future television or movie projects. “One day that stars will align and we can find the perfect project to showcase your talent. That would be so lovely. I will keep fighting for that,” he said.
