PAGASA – Here are the following latest updates from the state weather bureau PAGASA, on this day February 17, 2021 (Wednesday).

The 4 AM update from the state weather bureau says that the tail-end of a frontal system will be affecting the eastern section of Visayas and Mindanao, while the Northeast Monsoon will be affecting Luzon.

The bureau’s official website says that there is a tropical depression, which was last spotted at about 1,080 east of Mindanao outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility as of 3 AM.

It is packed with maximum sustained winds at 45 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 55 kilometers per hour. It is moving slowly westward.

For the forecast weather conditions, the Tail-end of a Frontal System will bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, SOCCSKSARGEN and Zamboanga Peninsula.

Possible flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate with at times heavy rains.

The Northeast Monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon; and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

The rest of the country will face partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

Possible flash floods or landslides may occur due to severe thunderstorms.

Based on the website, for the forecast wind and coastal water condition, the northern and eastern section of the country will face moderate to strong winds that are moving in the northeast direction, while facing moderate coastal waters.

The rest of Luzon and Visayas will face light to moderate winds that are moving in the northeast direction, while facing slight to moderate coastal waters.
