Motorist Allegedly Punched by Traffic Enforcer Due to Violation
A 19-year-old motorist suffered an eye injury after he was allegedly punched by a traffic enforcer in Roxas City, Capiz.
The victim identified as Benjie, a resident of Barangay Bato in the city was allegedly assaulted by a member of the Traffic Management Unit (TMU). He reportedly sustained swelling and bruising around his right eye following the incident.
Around 11:30 a.m. on July 25, 2026, the victim was on his way to the Teodoro Arcenas Trade Center (TATC) to buy motorcycle parts. He explained that he had planned to take his usual route, but a fire that broke out along Plaridel Street forced him to look for an alternate road.
As a result, he passed through Fuentes Drive and continued toward Osmeña Street and Aguirre Street. While traveling along the area, he allegedly encountered a member of the Traffic Management Unit.
The motorist claimed that the traffic enforcer suddenly punched him for reasons he did not know. The unexpected incident left him injured and shocked. The alleged assault quickly raised concern among local residents, especially those who frequently pass through the area.
