Roque Clarifies Boracay Diving Trip, Says He Only Had Exposure Upon Return To Manila
ROQUE CLARIFIES BORACAY DIVING TRIP – Recently, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque needed to self-isolate after his staff tested positive for COVID-19.
However, netizens were irked upon knowing that Roque, the day before his announcement, went on a diving trip on Boracay. However, in his defense, Roque emphasized that he was only exposed to the virus when he returned to Manila.
Roque explained that he went to Iloilo City for a meeting, afterward, he proceeded to Boracay. Furthermore, he said that he stayed there until Saturday. Afterward, photos of his trip surfaced on social media.
Meanwhile, in response to his critics, Roque said:
Maraming malisyoso na sinasabi na nagpunta raw ako roon maski alam ko na na-expose. Hindi po totoo iyan. Kalokohan po iyan…
Iyong trip po to Visayas, hindi po, wala pa akong exposure doon. At hindi ko po kasama sa Visayas iyong staff ko na nag-positive
Last week, Roque announced that government officials don’t need testing and quarantine when traveling for work. However, the Presidential Spokesperson denied accusations the government officials were given double standards in health protocols.
I am always in 100-percent compliance with all the rules… I never violate the rules, he emphasized.
