Teacher Group Criticized Teachers Buying Ready-made Research Papers

A group of teachers criticized other cheater teachers who are buying ready-made research papers to be used for their promotions.

Teacher’s Dignity Coalition (TDC) National Chairperson Benjo Basas pinpoint the ‘cheating’ allegedly made by other teachers to go up the ladder. Basas reacts after Senator Sherwin Gatchalian revealed about some teachers buying ready-made researches for promotion.

“Cheating is stealing and we go up the ladder, the wider and deeper the impact on our nation, and therefore the culpability of perpetrators, gravest,” according to Teachers’ Dignity Coalition (TDC).

According to Basas, the TDC condemns “deplorable dishonesty that puts the integrity of our system in question” – where the group insists that “falsification of academic achievements is never acceptable.”

“We are actually installing the worst people possible in key positions, putting Philippine education in the sad state it is right now in,” said Basas. “We can do without this kind of individuals.”

Basas further stressed that he understands that there are some teachers who keep cheating just to beat others who seem to be gaining favor, despite this, it is not acceptable and cheaters should be held accountable by law.

As a result, TDC challenged DepEd to resolve the issue. “If the DepEd therefore, is serious about its duties both to the Filipino people and our beloved teachers, let them provide all teachers honest-to-goodness, no-nonsense training,” said Basas.

“Let the DepEd access the best minds in both the private and public sectors – we can take a look at the best-performing systems in the ASEAN region and learn from them,” he added.
