A scammer who claimed to be Willie Revillame sent a message to Kuya Wil
Wowowin host Willie Revillame, also known as Kuya Wil, revealed that a scammer pretending to be him asked for money.
Through his game show in the Kapuso network, the popular TV host has been extending help to many people. The good intention of the show has been popular in every corner of the Philippines.
However, despite having the good intention to help many people, especially the less fortunate Pinoys, Wowowin has been an object of deceit and fraud of many people who just want their personal gain.
Kuya Wil has already reminded his avid viewers not to easily believe messages claiming to be from their program or from him personally. He has been reiterating that official announcements regarding the promos and games in the show will be available on official social media platforms of the program and of GMA Network.
On the other hand, there are still those who want to take advantage of other people using the program and the identity of Willie Revillame.
Based on the article in Bandera, the Wowowin host revealed that a scammer tried to ask for money from him and even used his name in his scamming modus.
“Mag-ingat kayo. Ngayon may nag-text sa amin, ako, tinext ako, siya raw si Willie Revillame! Nanghihingi ng P40, pang-load daw dahil birthday ko. Hello! Hindi ho ako hihingi ng kahit ano sa inyo!” muling paalala ng host ng “Wowowin: Tutok To Win,” Kuya Wil said.
He also stressed that he would never scam a person for just a cellphone load worth P40.
