Multiple Complaints Filed vs. VP Sara Duterte Ahead of Possible Impeachment Case
SARA DUTERTE – Several civil society leaders filed plunder charges against the Vice President before the Ombudsman’s office.
Ahead of the possible new impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Duterte, former Senator Antonio Trillanes previously issued a warning. Trillanes claimed that plunder charges might be filed against Duterte this week. Then, he refused to divulge the complainants but revealed that it is in line with the confidential funds issue.

Vice Pres. Duterte is being questioned over the alleged misuse of the confidential funds of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Department of Education (DepEd) under her lead. It was last year when Duterte resigned from being the education secretary amid the issues.
Since the confidential funds issue broke out, the OVP has also stopped asking for confidential and intelligence funds in their budget proposal. Amid the calls for an explanation, the Vice President claimed several times that she’s ready to answer in the proper forum.

Recently, the remarks of former Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV turned into a reality — several civil society leaders filed plunder charges against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte before the Office of the Ombudsman. Multiple complaints were actually filed against Duterte and 15 officials of the OVP and the DepEd.

Aside from the plunder charges, the complainants also filed charges of alleged bribery, graft, and malversation against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte before the Ombudsman. The charges are in line with the confidential funds issue.
