Anthony Taberna was bashed because of what he said against Sen. Risa Hontiveros
Veteran journalist Anthony Taberna spoke about the issue that arose between him and Senator Risa Hontiveros.
In his program, Taberna mentioned that the female politician was one of the senators who has budget insertion. Because of this, the supporters of Hontiveros criticized him and said that he was spreading fake news.
He said this on his radio program na Dos Por Dos on DZRH with his co-host Gerry Baja. One of the people who reacted to this was actress Pinky Amador, who said that she would like to buy “fake news” from Ka Tunying’s store.
In a recent interview on CinemaBravo, based on the article in Balita, Anthony Taberna, people are saying that he is spreading fake news, but they can’t point out what fake news it was.
“Kaya lang itong mga grupo ni Risa Hontiveros, naging selective lang ‘yong pakikinig nila, akala nila ay sini-single out namin si Risa, which is not true,” the veteran journalist said.
Then, Taberna pointed out that Hontiveros said in his social media post that she has no bicameral insertion and that people should not believe in fake news.
“Medyo nasaktan naman ako ro’n, hindi lang naman siya ang may pangalan, may pangalan din naman kami na pinangangalagaan,” the veteran journalist said, adding the people kept on saying that it was fake news.
With this, he asked, “Alin do’n sa mga sinabi ko ang fake? Dine-deny ba nila na meron siyang insertion, meaning ‘yong mga projects under her name? Na ang total ay more than ₱3 billion pesos?”
Taberna also said that even though he would explain his side, he can do nothing about the people who insist that he is a “fake news peddler.”
Anthony Taberna also mentioned that some of the netizens who did not like what he said about the Senator were addressing their hate to his children.
He said that Hontiveros is a “righteous” person and with this, she could have stopped her supporters from wishing the death of her daughter Zoey. As of this writing, Sen. Risa Hontiveros has yet to release her reply.
