PAGASA – LPA To Bring Rains Over Visayas, Bicol, MIMAROPA This January 8, 2021

PAGASA – Here are the following latest updates from the state weather bureau PAGASA, on this day January 8, 2021 (Friday).

The daily weather forecast from the state weather bureau says that the Low Pressure Area or LPA, was last spotted at about 240 km East of Davao City as of 3 AM as it is currently embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), which is affecting Visayas and Mindanao, while the Northeast Monsoon is currently affecting Luzon.

According to the weather bureau’s website, the LPA and the ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Bicol Region, and MIMAROPA. Possible flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region; and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon. Amihan will bring no significant impact over the said areas.

Mindanao will face partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ. Possible flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Based on the update, for the Forecast Wind and Coastal Water Condition, Luzon will face moderate to strong winds that are moving in the northeast direction while facing moderate to rough coastal waters.

The eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao will face moderate to strong winds that are moving in the east to northeast direction while facing moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country will face light to moderate winds that are moving in the east to northeast direction while facing slight to moderate coastal waters.
