NCRPO Chief Says Firecrackers Banned in Metro Manila During Holiday Season
NCRPO chief Brig. Gen. Vicente Danao said that all kinds of firecrackers were banned in the Metro Manila during this Yuletide Season.
On Monday (December 21, 2020), Danao reported that the Metro Manila mayors have decided to prohibit all types of firecrackers in the National Capital Region during the Christmas season. Selling and use of firecrackers are both prohibited.
The police officers would initially apprehend the violators and would advised them not to repeat the offense. Violators who will repeat the same offence would face corresponding sanctions and penalties.
“All Metro Manila mayors unanimously agreed (on) the total ban po of firecrackers sa buong Kamaynilaan (in entire Metro Manila). Any kind of firecrackers ay bawal na pong gamitin, ibenta rito po sa loob ng Metro Manila,” Danao says.
The measure has been approved last week and the new policy would start anytime on Monday. The local government would allow fireworks display in designated safe areas during the Holiday season.
