Drug User Arrested in Checkpoint for Riding Without Helmet Yields P2M Drugs
A drug user arrested and yields a huge worth of drugs after he was apprehended in a checkpoint for riding a motorcycle without a helmet.
The 28-year-old motorist was apprehended at the checkpoint for riding a motorcycle without a helmet. Later found as a drug user and seized P2 million worth of suspected shabu in Pasig city, on Wednesday, December 9.
According to the report of Hataw, P / Col. Moises Villaceran, Jr., Pasig police chief, arrested the suspect Jayson Soriano, 28, living in Dr. Sixto Antonio Ave., Barangay Maybunga, in the said city.
It was learned that around 11:30 am, the Pasig Philippine National Police (PNP) Sub-Station 6 conducted a checkpoint led by P / Lt. Joey Ibañez at Sandoval Ave., Barangay San Miguel.

Here the suspect was apprehended because he was not wearing a helmet while driving his Honda Beat 110 motorcycle, with license plate TA-6183. Police also demanded his license and motorcycle document.
But authorities were shocked after 12 pieces of transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu in a black pouch exposed as the suspect present his license. According to police, up to 31.0 grams of drugs were seized worth P210,800.
The suspect is detained in the police detention cell and is set to be charged with violating RA 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002
Interior Secretary Eduardo Año earlier urged police officers to intensify searches at checkpoints as many drug dealers are smuggling illegal herbs called “Mary-Jane.” Drug dealers mixed the said items from the other things with other products and hide them in car seat or compartment.
