Vice President Leni Robredo Expresses Gratitude to Actress Bea Alonzo, I Am Hope

VICE PRESIDENT LENI ROBREDO – The Vice President thanked actress Bea Alonzo and the organization she founded, I Am Hope.

A lot of people now are in need of help following the impacts of the two recent typhoons that hit the country – Rolly and Ulysses. Many areas hit by Rolly were yet to recover when Ulysses entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and brought massive rains.

Ulysses triggered landslide and flood in Catanduanes while in Marikina and Rizal, many residents climbed their rooftops to get away from the rising water level.

Marikina Mayor Marcy Teodoro even asked for the national government’s help as the local government’s 50 rubber boats were not enough to rescue all the residents needing help amid Ulysses’ onslaught.

Evacuations were done prior to the onslaught of Ulysses but unforeseen things took place. Areas that were not previously flooded when there is a tropical storm were reached by the flood.
