Loyal Customers Give Early Christmas Gift for Elderly Vendor
Some loyal customers give an early Christmas girl for an elderly vendor whose livelihood has been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
The old man Angelito Genuino or popularly known as “Lolo Pops” in Angeles City, Pampanga received an early Christmas gift from some of his customer. He is already a vendor for almost three decades.
Genuino is selling lollipop along the streets, which makes people call him as “Lolo Pops”. Throughout the decades of selling lollipop, he already loved Kapampangan people and he considered them as family. Lolo Pops is now selling ‘pastillas’ and ‘pulburon’.
“Fifteen years na ako sa Pampanga. Dati, sa lansangan lang ako natutulog, Nagbabalik-balik lang ako, hanggang sa nabigyan ako ng bahay sa may Santo Rosario,” Genuino said.
Unfortunately, the coronavirus disease affects his livelihood as the authorities set restriction to street vendors. The health crisis leave him with no other source of income, which makes his life harder.
Recently, a couple who is a loyal customer of Lolo Pops surprised the old vendor by making an online shop for him. “Sigurado po ako, masaya ang Pasko ni Lolo Pops kasi dagsa po ‘tong order,” Arianne Ocampo said.
Tatay Genuino could usually sold 1,000 packs of pastillas and pulburon in four days because of the help of the online shop.
