House Doctor Confirms 77-Year-Old Congresswoman Tested Positive for COVID-19

77-YEAR-OLD CONGRESSWOMAN – The Chief Doctor of the House of Representatives confirmed that a congresswoman tested positive for COVID-19.

The different branches of the Philippine government recorded cases of COVID-19. Currently, the fight against the pandemic continues and there entire nation is still under community quarantine measures.

Metro Manila which is tagged as the first epicenter of the disease will remain under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) until December. There are also national protocols implemented like the wearing of face mask when going outdoors and the practice of social distancing.

The House of Representatives recorded cases of COVID-19 amid the pandemic. The total cases in the lower chamber of the legislative branch has reached 90.

Recently, Dr. Salvador Richard Dizon, the chief of the House of Representatives Medical and Dental Service, confirmed that a 77-year-old congresswoman tested positive for COVID-19. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, two other staff of the lower chamber have also tested positive for the disease.

According to Dr. Dizon, the 77-year-old congresswoman is from Quezon City. She arrived in Manila from the province last October 30 and immediately started her isolation. Based on the report, after three (3) days, she began experiencing the symptoms.

The said lawmaker experienced itchy throat. She went through a swab test and the result returned positive. According to the House’s Chief Doctor, the said congresswoman is the 90th case in the lower chamber.

Currently, the lawmaker is experiencing mild symptoms and is under home quarantine. The two House staff who tested positive for the disease are a 40-year-old female congressional staff living in Malabon City and a 43-year-old congressional staff.
