Malapatan Mayor Exodus Sumbo Wins COVID-19 Battle
Malapatan Mayor Exodus Sumbo recovered from the COVID-19 disease after previously going critical because of it.
Philippines is one of the countries that logged cases of COVID-19. This disease that was declared as pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) brought a lot of changes in several nations.
More than 200 countries and territories across the globe recorded cases of coronavirus. In PH, the Department of Health (DOH) has logged a total of 365,799 cases of the disease as of this writing.
Out of the said total, the death toll is at 6,915 while 312,691 have already recovered from the disease based on DOH’s records. The entire nation is still under community quarantine measures now as part of the efforts to curb the spread of the disease.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines, a lot of mayors and officials of the local government units contracted the disease. One of them is Malapatan Mayor Exodus Sumbo in Saranggani.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Mayor Sumbo was initially not believing on the impacts of COVID-19 until he experienced it himself. He really went through a critical condition.
The Mayor admitted that he was even praying to God for he’s thinking he might not be able to go home to his family. According to him, he was praying telling God that he was just starting with his term in Malapatan.
Based on the report, Malapatan Mayor Exodus Sumbo stayed in the hospital for 23 days. It all started with symptoms such as cough and breathing difficulties.
“Hindi mo talaga ako ma-convince noon sa COVID-19 pero ngayon sabihin ko sa inyo maniwala kayo sa COVID-19… I underestimated ang COVID-19,” Mayor Sumbo said.
