Roque Recommends Giving Break To Hospital Frontliners for COVID-19 Fight

ROQUE – Presidential spokesman Harry Roque is proposing a break for the COVID-19 frontliners in the hospitals.

The Philippines is one of the countries affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Community quarantine measures are still up in the country now to curb the spread of the disease.

As of this writing, the Department of Health (DOH) has logged a total of 348,698 cases of coronavirus including 6,497 deaths. The total recoveries is 294,161 now.

The authorities continue to remind the public to stay at home if not for very essential purposes and to practice proper hygiene. The wearing of face mask and the practice of social distancing are already part of the protocols.

Previously, several hospitals have announced their full capacity for COVID-19 cases. Several frontliners also contracted the disease in the line of duty and the workforce was reduced.

Recently, a huge drop on the active coronavirus cases in the country was noted. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, National Task Force Against COVID-19 (NTF) Chief Implementer Carlito Galvez Jr. expressed that it reduced by 48,000 as of Thursday.

Following the huge drop, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque is suggesting for break for the COVID-19 frontliners in hospitals. According to the report, the spokesman cited that, currently, the occupancy of ward, isolation, and ICU beds for COVID-19 cases is at 50%.

“Baka pupuwedeng pagbakasyunin iyong ilang mga frontliners natin para sa ganoon ay makapagpahinga habang hindi pa po kritikal ang ating critical care capacity,” he said.

Galvez expressed that a break for the COVID-19 frontliners in hospitals will be proposed to the One Hospital Command.
