BLACKPINK – Netizens react after listening to BLACKPINK’S first full-length studio album.
K-pop sensation BLACKPINK just released their wildly-anticipated debut album called “The Album.” Months before they dropped their album, Jisso, Lisa, Rose, and Jennie collaborated with Lady Gaga, and Selena Gomez.
The cover art for their album shows a shining pink crown against a black background. Last Sept. 29, the girls shared a teaser clip for the world premiere of their new single “Lovesick Girls.”
On October 2, BLACKPINK released “The Album” alongside dropping the epic music video for “Lovesick Girls.” The video was premiered during the debut of Youtube Originals 16-episode music series titled ‘Released.’
Lyor Cohen, Global Head of Music for Youtube, said “Thursday nights on Youtube are going to be mic drop moments.”
He added, “YouTube Music is all about connecting artists and fans and this Original series brings the world’s biggest artists and their newest videos and projects straight to the fans right before they’re released. We feel lucky to kick off this series with BLACKPINK, arguably the biggest artist in the world.”
Based on a report from Soompi, Jennie and Jisoo both contributed to the lyrics. Jisoo described it as a “hopeful song” about the pain of love and rising above heartbreak. They will release the physical version of the album on October 6.

BLACKPINK loaded their album with 8 tracks starting with their 2 pre-released singles “How You Like That” and “Ice Cream” featuring Selena Gomez. The 6 tracks are never-before-heard tracks including “Lovesick Girls,” “Pretty Savage,” “Love To Hate Me,” “Crazy Over You,” “You Never Know,” and “Bet You Wanna Know” feat. Cardi B.
