The father of Ogie Alcasid passed away
Singer-comedian Ogie Alcasid shared this heartfelt post following the death of his father and his fellow celebrities expressed condolences.
Ogie is one of the most notable comedians in the country aside from being an OPM icon. He was even part of the longest-running gag show Bubble Gang for several years before he transferred to ABS-CBN.
However, his recent post did not gave laughter to his social media followers. It is because he is mourning over the death of his father. Ogie shared a photo with his father, Herminio Alcasid, Sr.
The OPM icon wrote this heartfelt caption: “I will miss you so much Dad. My heart grieves knowing you are gone but I am at peace because you are in the loving arms of our Father in heaven. I love you so much Daddy.”
Fellow celebrities of Ogie Alcasid also wrote sweet messages for him and his family to show their sympathy amid this difficult time. Ogie’s fellow singer Gary Valenciano even shared this verse in the Bible: “Psalms 34:18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

Other celebrities who expressed condolences to Ogie and his family are Richard Gomez, Dingdong Avanzado, Pops Fernandez, Marian Rivera, Ryan Agoncillo, Judy Ann Santos, and Zsa Zsa Padilla.
Fans of the singer-comedian also wrote messages of sympathy for him and his family. Many people also said that they will be praying for Ogie, as well as his loved ones.
