Regine Velasquez reacted to fake news about Ogie Alcasid
Ogie Alcasid Death Hoax circulated online and this received a reaction from the OPM icon’s wife Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez.
Celebrities are prone to bashing and criticisms, especially in this generation when the use of social media has become an ordinary part of many people’s lives. However, aside from these negative comments against celebrities, there are sometimes fake news being circulated about them.
One of the most common fake news is “death”. There had been several celebrities who became subject of a death hoax. Just recently, Kapuso comedian Michael V, known also as Bitoy, lambasted a news headline stating that he already passed away.
This circulated after he revealed that he tested positive for COVID-19 through his YouTube vlog. That sad news saddened his fan and fellow celebrities. One of Bitoy’s close friends in the entertainment industry who wrote a heartfelt message for him was Ogie Alcasid.

For several years, they worked together in the longest-running gag show Bubble Gang. That was before Ogie transferred to ABS-CBN.
Apparently, the Kapamilya singer-comedian also became a subject of death hoax. His wife Regine shared this headline from a blog site. According to the edited photo, Ogie was found dead in his car.
Regine lambasted the fake news. “Bakit naman kailangan gumawa ng ganitong balita. Alam namin at tangap na namin na parti na ng aming buhay ang pagusapan kami mahirap pero kasama talaga ito sa trabaho namin,” the Songbird said.
She stressed that there are members of their family who might get very worried when they read this kind of headline. Regine also called out to their loved ones not to believe this kind of misinformation.
“To our families and friends this is a fake news Ogie is home safe and healthy. God bless Po,” she clarified.
