Manila Cemeteries to Be Closed from Oct. 31 to Nov.3, Mayor Isko Order

Mayor Isko Moreno Order Closure of Manila Cemeteries to Prevent Spread of Virus

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno gives an order to close Manila cemeteries from October 31 to November 3 to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Moreno recently signed an Executive Order No. 38, which announced the closure of cemeteries in Manila. The dates cover the days of traditional annual visits to cemeteries, which draw millions.

Mayor Isko also pleads to understand their decision as it is the effect of the new normal. He also promised residents that if the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) will be eased or gone by October 31 he will rescind the executive order.

Manila Mayor previously offered P100k incentives to those villages or barangays with zero coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases. He announced that the village who will record zero infected cases will get a reward.
