ABS-CBN Releases Statement Regarding Ted Failon’s Departure

TED FAILON – After 30 years, multi-awarded broadcast journalist Ted Failon and ABS-CBN will be parting ways.

The largest media company in the Philippines, ABS-CBN, has been off the air since May 5. It’s tv and radio operations nationwide were ordered to shut following the expiration of its franchise in May.

On July 10, 70 lawmakers in the House of the Representatives’ legislative franchises committee voted against granting the media network a fresh 25-year franchise. Only 11 lawmakers voted for the granting of the franchise.

On August 30, ABS-CBN released a statement regarding veteran journalist Ted Failon’s departure from the tv network. He is one of the news pillars of the media network, with brave investigative reports and public service. The anchor of “TV Patrol” is leaving ABS-CBN after 30 years.

“Multi-awarded broadcast journalist Ted Failon is leaving ABS-CBN after 30 years. He will make his final appearance on ‘TV Patrol’ and ‘Failon Ngayon sa Teleradyo’ on August 31.”

“The closure of ABS-CBN’s radio broadcast operations led to his painful decision and we respect it,” ABS-CBN added.

ABS-CBN thanked Ted for his many years of service as a Kapamilya broadcast journalist.

“We admire Ted’s talent, passion, and commitment to radio as his most effective medium in serving the Filipino people.”

He will always be a Kapamilya. We wish him well on his journey,” ABS-CBN said.
