PNP Plans Strict Enforcement Of Quarantine Protocols Amid Return To GCQ
PNP – The Philippine National Police recently eyes for a stricter lockdown protocol amid Metro Manila’s return to general community quarantine.
According to ABS-CBN News, mayors in the region pushed for a stricter enforcement of GCQ following a return to modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) until August 18.
“Ang gusto po nila (mayors) stricter enforcement nitong protocol na ito at iyon nga po ang gagawin ng ating kapulisan,”
This came from a statement from chief of Joint Task Force COVID-19 Shield Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, who also said the following:
“Tapos na siguro po iyong puro paalala at puro pagbibigay. Dapat sumunod na sila,”
Officials will also keep random checkpoints across the region and patrol with barangay officers and volunteers, Eleazar added.
Based on the report, cabinet secretaries will provide a link between the national government and local officials.
General Community Quarantine or GCQ allows public transport and more industries to operate. This was also in a bid to revive the economy.
This report came with a full interview of Eleazar, which you can check on YouTube right here:
