But, amidst all the chaos in the world, we could at least see the best cosmic spectacle the year has to offer on August 11-12. So, if you love stargazing, then this meteor shower should take your mind off the troubles of the world, even for just a moment.

In a few days, we could experience the Perseid meteor shower. Luckily, those who are celebrating their birthdays in August 11, and especially August 12, would have another thing to add to their celebration.

According to an article from Thrillist, the Perseid shower would produce 60-80 meteors per hour and would peak on August 11. Although it has fewer meteors than the Gemenids with around 100 per hour, the Perseid’s would still come out the “best”. Here’s why.

Aside from meteors, The Perseids are known for creating fireballs which are exponentially brighter than meteors. Along with this, the upcoming shower is also known to produce meteors with a longer tail, reminiscent of those in the movies.The trails produced by these meteors could also be seen a couple a seconds after the meteor has passed the Earth.

Best time to watch the meteors?

So with all that in mind, when is the best time to watch this spectacle? As per the article, the Perseid Meteor shower is best viewed after midnight. On August 11, the best time would be on 11:00 PM, the darkest time of the night before the moon rises. Meanwhile, the meteors would be more visible around 1:00 AM on Wednesday.
