Celebrities react to President Duterte advice to use gasoline for disinfection.
PRESIDENT DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte said that his advice to use gasoline for disinfection is not a joke and these celebrities have these reactions.
In a previous article, actor Jason Abalos lambasted Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque clarifying the gasoline statement of President Duterte as only a joke. The president advised people to use gasoline as disinfectant if ever alcohol becomes unavailable.
However, in his latest address, Duterte said that he is actually not joking about it. He indicated in a statement, “Totoo’ yang sinabi ko, alcohol. ‘Pag walang alcohol available hindi ka naman puwede lalo mahirap pupunta ka lang diyan sa gasoline station pagkatapos magpatulo. That’s disinfectant.”
With this, several celebrities expressed their reactions about and some have laughed in disbelief.

According to a report from Rappler, Integrated Chemists of the Philippines in a Facebook post warned that using gasoline to disinfect your mask is dangerous most especially when inhaled. Thus, it must not be used as a disinfectant.
Also the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention insisted that exposure to above mentioned chemical is toxic as per the article. The Philippines, as per latest update, now has 89,374 COVID-19 cases surpassing the record of China which is at 84,292.
