Teacher Passes Away After Alleged Assault by 19-Year-Old Man in Aklan 

A 52-year-old teacher has died while undergoing treatment at a hospital days after he was allegedly assaulted by a 19-year-old man in Aklan. 

The victim, identified as “Tim,” was a teacher and a resident of Barangay Igtambo, San Miguel, Iloilo. He was also renting a place in Barangay Poblacion, Kalibo. The New Washington Police confirmed his death and later verified by his family, who informed authorities about his passing. 

According to the initial police investigation, the incident happened at around 11:45 p.m. on July 26 during a gathering attended by both the victim and the suspect. The two were present on the same occasion when a heated argument reportedly broke out between them.

After the disagreement, the teacher decided to leave the area. Reports showed that he was already on his motorcycle and preparing to go home when the suspect, identified as “Renz,” allegedly approached him and punched him several times. 

The attack reportedly caused the teacher to fall from his motorcycle and hit the ground. He lost consciousness immediately after the incident. 

Emergency responders rushed the victim to a private hospital, where doctors placed him in the Intensive Care Unit. Despite efforts to save his life, he later succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical treatment.

Authorities said there were witnesses who saw the incident and are expected to help in the continuing investigation. Investigators are also looking into the events that led to the confrontation. 

Before the victim’s death, the suspect had already been charged with frustrated homicide. However, police are now expected to review and update the charges in light of the teacher’s passing.
