On July 27, 2020 (Monday), President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is set to deliver his speech for his 5th State of the Nation Address at the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The Philippine President will elaborate on his achievement and plans for this year. He will also tackle his plans on economic response and recovery amid the COVID-19. Duterte would also discuss other economic problems in the country that needs an immediate solution.
However, the government has also set a Plan B in case that it is not safe to hold the SONA at Batasang Pambansa due to the threat of the coronavirus disease. This year’s SONA might be transferred to Rizal Hall in Malacañang Palace.
The Plan B would depend on the COVID test results of the government officials who will attend the annual ceremony. The number of lawmakers invited to attend this year’s SONA physically will be limited due to the health crisis.

Lawmakers will be separated by glass dividers during the event to ensure that the health guidelines are being followed.
