CES DRILON – ABS-CBN news anchor Ces Drilon revealed she’s among the company’s employees who will leave their jobs by the end of August.

Media giant in the Philippines, ABS-CBN, has just lost their chance to have a fresh 25-year legislative franchise after 13 hearings. Since May 5, they stopped airing and halted all their broadcasting operations after being ordered by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) to desist.

After a thorough investigation of lawmakers and all their questions regarding issues, the network proved innocence of violating any laws but despite this, they failed to get their renewal. Over 11,000 employees lost their job and the network has announced that the retrenchment will start on August 31.

And among those who lost her job amid this difficult time of pandemic is the news anchor Ces Drilon. When it comes to news reporting, she’s among the icon of the network and many hearts are breaking because of this.

She said in her post, “This was one of the toughest days I had to face. Telling fellow kapamilyas that they would lose their jobs by end of August. I lost mine too.”

The news anchor added that this might be their darkest hour but she believes they will rise up again and they would always hold on to that hope.

Karen Davila, a fellow reporter, expressed how honored she is to have worked with her in Bandila. She’s not saying “Goodbye” but instead “See you soon” because she believed that “Once a kapamilya, always a kampamilya”. Davila is also not losing hope that their network will go back to air again.
