Regine Velasquez says something if ever ABS-CBN shuts down.
REGINE VELASQUEZ – Songbird Regine Velasquez expressed her sentiments if ever ABS-CBN shuts down amid the issues of its franchise renewal.
At the end of March, the franchise contract of ABS-CBN is going to expire but due the wrath of Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte after they have accordingly failed to air his campaign advertisements way back in 2016, he is now persistent to have it shut down. And now, Solicitor General Jose Calida claims that the network have disregarded highly abusive practices and urges Supreme Court to scrap the renewal.
Moreover, based on a previous article, on February 11, the court released a directive order for the network to make a comment about the franchise revocation plea of Calida. And Regine Velasquez, on the other hand, has these sentiments if ever the shut down happens.
The singer cited famous artists that people will surely miss such as KathNiel, LizQuen, Vice Ganda, Coco Martin, Moira Dela Torre, Sarah Geronimo, Morisette Amon, and many others. This she all mentioned to strengthen her reasons why the network franchise renewal shouldn’t be canceled.
And on tops of that, for her, people will lose one channel which delivers true and updated news reports. Also, the close down would mean depriving the people of the freedom they have to choose what to watch. And what bothered her more are the persons who will lose their job if ever it shuts down.
She wrote, “Naliligalig din po ako dahil nakasalalay din po ang aming kabuhayan sa ABS-CBN. Naisip ko tuloy….. na kung ako ay naliligalig pano pa ang iba na dito talaga nakasalalay ang buhay nila at pamilya nila.”
