Here’s the community quarantine list of areas which will be put under ECQ, MECQ, GCQ, & MGCQ.
COMMUNITY QUARANTINE – List of areas in the Philippines which will be put under ECQ, MECQ, GCQ, and MGCQ from June 16 to June 30.
President Rodrigo Duterte‘s decision for the country has been released past midnight Tuesday, June 16, through Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque. This was made after his meeting with the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.
Starting June 16, these areas will be under the following classification of community quarantine:
Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ)
Cebu City
Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ)
Talisay City
General Community Quaratine (GCQ)
Metro Manila
in Luzon
- Cagayan
- Isabela
- Nueva Vizcaya
- Quirino
- Santiago City
- Aurora
- Bataan
- Bulacan
- Tarlac
- Olongapo City
- Cavite
- Laguna
- Batangas
- Rizal
- Quezon
- Occidental Mindoro
in Visayas
- Bohol
- Cebu
- Negros Oriental
- Siquijor
- Mandaue City
- Lapu-Lapu City
in Mindanao
- Davao City
- Zamboanga City
And the rest of the country are downgraded to modified general community quarantine (MGCQ). This is the loosest quarantine phase where public transportation resumed at full capacity, restaurants receiving dine-ins, re-opening of cinemas and gyms at half capacity, and allowed public gatherings with limitations.
Metro Manila and Cebu City are the areas in the country hard-hit by the virus. On Monday, the Philippines has recorded over 26,000 confirmed coronavirus cases where 1,098 died and 6,000 have recovered.
The rising of COVID-19 cases in the country remained as the top dilemma of the government with the NCR as the epicenter. Experts even foresee that by the end of the month, the cases will reach 40,000.
