Palace Releases New Decision Placing Entire PH Except for 3 Areas Under GCQ

PALACE – Malacanang announced a General Community Quarantine (GCQ) in the entire Philippines except for three (3) areas starting May 16.

The fight against COVID-19 in the Philippines is not yet over. The invisible enemy has yet to be defeated and no one must be complacent or must put his guards downs.

There are now over 11,000 cases of coronavirus recorded in the country according to the Department of Health (DOH). It has claimed more than 700 lives and the national crisis has affected a lot of households financially.

Currently, several areas are under an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). The move is in line with the pursuit to curb the spread of the disease. Many non-essential businesses temporarily stopped their operation.

Global Coronavirus Recoveries

The areas considered as low and medium risk for coronavirus are currently under a General Community Quarantine (GCQ). Both the existing ECQ and GCQ will expire tomorrow, May 15.

Previously, the areas where the ECQ will be extended and as well as the areas which need to implement the GCQ and those that do not anymore need any measure were announced. Meanwhile, everyone is reminded to be extra careful still and to wear mask when going outdoors.

Recently, a new decision from the national government came. Based on a post of ABS-CBN News, the Palace announced a General Community Quarantine (GCQ) in the entire Philippines except for three (3) areas in the country starting May 16.

Based on the post, Cebu City, Metro Manila, and the province of Laguna will be under a Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine starting May 16.

As of this writing, there are still no further details regarding the new announcement from the national government. More updates may be posted soon.
