ABS-CBN: SC Junks Gadon’s Plea Blocking Grant Of Provisional Franchise To Network

SC Thumbs Down Gadon’s Plea Blocking Grant Of Provisional Franchise To ABS-CBN Network

ABS-CBN – A source said the Supreme Court thumbs down Atty. Larry Gadon’s plea blocking grant of the provisional franchise of the Kapamilya network.

Lawyer Lorenzo “Larry” Gadon was a former legal counsel to former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and a member of a pro-Duterte group. He also admitted that he is a supporter of former President Ferdinand Marcos.

Gandon runs for the senate seat in the 2019 midterm elections. He said the “stupid” senators prompted him to join the politics.

Larry Gadon asked the Supreme Court to block the ABS-CBN network’s plea to continue operating beyond May 4. In a previous article, the lawyer called out House speaker Alan Peter Cayetano for “railroading” the bill that would allow the Kapamilya network to reopen.

Gadon said the speaker allegedly violated the constitution. He even called for Cayetano’s resignation for leading his fellow lawmakers to commit such violation.

“Ipinilit ni Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano ang pag bigay ng pagpa-apruba ng House bill na kanyang inisponsor na ifinile nya kahapon lamang at ifinile nya 30 minutes before the session. Doon ay no-railroad nya, binilisan nya at umabot ng second reading na maipasa nila yung house bill,” he said.

Based on a report from CNN, a source revealed on Tuesday, May 2, that the Supreme Court junked Atty. Larry Gadon’s plea to block the possible issuance of provisional franchise to the tv network. The sources said the supreme court justices unanimously voted to junk the controversial lawyer’s plea, saying Gadon had “no legal standing” for his petition.

The Kapamilya network has been off the air for almost a month now. Solicitor General Jose Calida asked the high court to reject the media network’s plea to lift stop-broadcast order.
