Commuter Expresses Disappointment After Floodwater Enters Bus
A commuter shared his frustration after floodwater entered the bus he was riding while heavy rain hit parts of Metro Manila.
On Monday, August 17, 2026, Andrei Gaboro, a Facebook user and Bayan Patroller, shared a video showing the floodwater entering the bus as it traveled along Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.
According to Gaboro, the rain was pouring heavily while the bus was traveling along the busy road. He noticed that water had started entering the vehicle even though its doors were closed.
The video showed passengers raising their feet to keep them from getting soaked by the floodwater. Despite the uncomfortable situation, Gaboro was able to get off safely near Quirino Avenue in Manila.
The bus was reportedly passing near the Buendia Flyover when it encountered deep floodwater. The flooding also caused heavy traffic in the area, making travel even more difficult for motorists and commuters.
The incident happened as Metro Manila experienced intense rainfall brought by the southwest monsoon, locally known as Habagat.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration recorded 201.7 millimeters of rainfall in Metro Manila within only six hours that day.
