Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo Admits Using Illegal Drugs
House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo admits that she was using illegal drugs for the medication of her cervical spine problem.
The former president supports the use of medical “marijuana” or “cannabis” in treating several types of illnesses.
Arroyo also admitted that she was using medical cannabis in other countries allowing it in treating her cervical spine since it is prohibited in the Philippines.
“As you know I have my problem here (cervical spine) and when I’m in a country that allows it, I put a pain patch but here in the Philippines I cannot do it,” Arroyo said.
The House Speaker is also the co-author of House bill 6517 pushing the legalization Marijuana in the country.
“So I authored that bill because I believe that it can help me and many other people but there was a lot of objection to the bill from the House and from the Senate. That’s why we are just letting the legislative process take its course,” the house speaker added.
President Rodrigo Duterte also supports the legalization of medical marijuana in the country and once joked that he was using it to stay awake despite his busy schedule
