Trillanes Suggests Classes In Public Schools, SUCs Should Be Postponed Until January 2021

CLASSES – Former senator Antonio Trillanes IV suggested that the opening of classes in public schools and state universities and colleges (SUCs) should be postponed until January 2021.

Lots of people are worried about the welfare of their children amid the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte immediately suspended the classes nationwide due to the disease.

The Department of Education (DepEd) previously announced that the opening of classes for the school year 2020-2021 will be on August 24. They also said private schools may start their classes this June.

Recently, a lawmaker calls on the Philippine government to postpone classes in private and public schools until the COVID-19 vaccine is available. He urged the education agencies and the IATF to “halt the physical opening of classes and prohibit face-to-face classes.”
