According to a report from SunStar, among the arrested were eight minors with ages ranging between 15 to 17. A younger child was taken to his parents by the cops.

Local City Police Station chief Major Gerard Ace Pelare said that they went to the area immediately after learning of the match’s existence via social media. The men were caught red-handed and were arrested immediately by the cops.

There are those who attempted to escape from the operation but to no avail as they were arrested eventually.

City Mayor Gerald Anthony Gullas Jr. visited the arrested to talk regarding the incident.

As per the report, the mayor urged barangay officials to help the government and police in obseving ECQ guidelines.

“Let us all cooperate and do our part in this time of crisis in Talisay. By organizing that event, they violated rules,”

Arrested violators will be charged for violating ECQ protocol in lieu to Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code. The arrested individuals are now under the custody of the police.
